Frequently Asked Questions

In order to really see change you need to make new habits and commit to the process. But I’m here to guide you through that. I offer monthly packages of training sessions, personalized movement programming, and the accountability you need! You can view the packages here.

How much does personal training cost?

The structure of a coaching sessions depends on your needs and goals. We start with a short check-in on how things have been going and I adjust my plan based on your needs. Then we hop right into movement. We will always warm up, practice and review the exercises you do on your own, and maybe learn some new exercises. Sometimes I will talk you through a progression of exercises that stack on top of each other, and other times we will do a circuit to really get your blood pumping. A lot of it has to do with what you’re up for each day (were you up all night with your baby?) and what your ultimate goals are (“I want better posture” or “Just make me exercise, Kat!”).

What happens in a personal training session?

I want you to move your body outside of your personal training sessions. The movement program I build for you will be emailed to you each day and tell you exactly what to do. You’ll get videos of each exercise, little check boxes you can check when you’ve completed your program, and in-app messaging to ask questions to your heart’s content.

Do I need a lot of space to have an in-home training session?

Not at all! We can push your couch to the side of the room and exercise in whatever space you have available!

On your intake form I’ll ask what equipment you have and I’ll build out the beginning of your programming around that. If you find that you want to purchase more equipment I’ll send you recommendations for my favorite props!

Do I need gym equipment or a gym membership to have a personal trainer?

Personal Training sessions are a solid 55 minutes of movement!

How long is a personal training appointment?

Do I need childcare for the personal training session?

This completely depends of your preferences and resources. Some new parents want to have their training sessions to be their me-time. By having someone look after their baby they are able to really tune in to their body and take corrections well.

If your little one is around then I encourage you to tend to your baby’s needs through the appointment. If you’re comfortable we can even use your babe as an ever-growing weight. I would never want a lack of childcare to keep you from moving your body!

After you’ve had your baby I ask that you get approval from your health care provider before starting a new exercise regimen. This approval usually happens at your 6-week check-up, but there are a few things that could cause that time to be longer to shorter.

If we work together before your pregnancy I’ll provide you with an outline of basic exercises you can start immediately after having your baby.

How long should I have a personal trainer for?

I hate to break it to ya, but seeing and feeling changes in your body doesn’t happen overnight. I recommend that clients commit to a new movement practice for a solid three months.

I used to exercise a lot. Can you help me get back to the things I was doing before having a baby?

I want you to move your body how YOU want to. If before your pregnancy you went hiking a bunch or had a fitness class you loved, then my goals is to get you back into those things!

If exercise classes weren’t your thing and you just want someone to show up and tell ya want to do - I’m your girl! We can work towards goals, but I can also just be the part of your week that gets you moving.
